I was lucky to get in on this web thing early - back in the mid 90's when animated gifs were all the rage!  I set out to combine my interests in design, marketing and emerging technologies, and see how I could help businesses. I started Propeller Media Works in ’97 to identify the goals of the organization and the audience, and bring the two together.  The tools and channels continue to change, but that mission remains.  

Today I look for patterns and trends. Playing with digital tools, communities and marketing is fun. I love the speed of evolution. I try to foresee where the paths converge and guide my clients in the right direction.

The challenge is that the paths are always in flux. Change is the only constant. Accommodating constant change requires an organic approach. “Continuous evolution” is my mantra and it serves as my tool for managing constant change. It keeps me looking for better solutions for our clients.

What I find particularly cool about this work is that the impact of websites, blogs, social media, and online marketing on an entire company. Customer service, operations, IT, marketing/PR, and executive teams all have interests in our work. As a result we gain unique insights into the organizations we work with. I really dig that.

In my day-to-day, I like to move between the strategic and tactical levels. I’m very involved in the process and I love rolling up the sleeves and mucking around – especially in the online marketing and analytics tools. Though I will state that I'm no programmer, and while I maintain conceptual understanding of the methodologies and tools - I don't write any code. I'm a designer and online marketing strategy guy. So I keep my head up and look for trends and "the new" to guide our partners to avoid risks and find new opportunities. Strategic vision, hands-on exploration, and an incredible team of veterans by my side all combine to serve our client-partners very well.
